Not all industrial applications require a water supply of the same quality as drinking water. By giving surface water a less complex treatment than that required for production of drinking water, it is possible to offer so-called industry water at a lower cost price. To the customer this means a reduction in the cost of water, without compromising the reliability and continuity of supply.
Industry water and Evides are inseparable. Evides Industriewater owns several large and medium-sized production sites of industry water, that are strategically located throughout the supply area. For the production of industry water fresh surface water of stable and reliable quality is pumped via large holding basins from the Brabantse Biesbosch to the surroundings of Rotterdam, western parts of the province of Brabant and the province of Zeeland.
The surface water has characteristics good enough for large-scale use for the production of drinking water. In addition, various other applications have been developed for industrial use. Untreated industry water is used for cooling tower suppletion water and flushing water. Industry water is an excellent source for the production of demineralised water for steam production. The foodstuff industry uses industry water (often augmented by a disinfection step) for conveyance, flushing, washing and blanching processes.
