Agricultural users need water for irrigation of crops. Because in the province of Zeeland fresh surface water and groundwater is either scarce or its extraction is subject to heavy restrictions, Evides Industriewater instead supplies agricultural users in this region with custom water. This so-called “landbouw water” consists of pre-treated surface water from the Biesbosch basins and is being supplied to agricultural users in Zeeland by means of a dedicated pipeline.
