The Dutch pavilion at the World Expo in Shanghai will be home to the Holland Water Week between 6 and 11 June. During this week, through various seminars, the Dutch water industry will present its knowledge and experience in the field of water-related issues such as healthy and safe drinking water, reliable industrial water, innovative and energy-efficient wastewater treatment and the complexity of water in the city. As such, the Dutch water industry may be of value in finding solutions to similar issues in China. |
On 8 June 2010, NethWater (a consortium of Evides Industriewater, Royal Haskoning, Witteveen+Bos and Norit) will present the industry with the power of collaboration for the supply of reliable process water. One key element is the DBFO/BOT contract model, which through the completion and commissioning of process plants leads to win-win partnerships between the water experts of NethWater and the consuming industry. Another key element is water recycling. China is the industrial society with the world's largest shortage of (available) water. The industrial development in the north of the country in particular is confronted with a major restrictive factor: sufficient water. Recycling therefore is a must. Evides' experience with the development, financing and operation of recycling plants for the chemical industry, such as for Dow Chemical in Terneuzen, will come in extremely handy in that respect. At the same time as the Holland Water Week, Evides, in cooperation with Haskoning and Witteveen+Bos, will be starting up a demo plant in the north of China. This plant will be officially presented during the Holland Water Week.
