(petro)chemical industry

The production of carbon products as diverse as nafta, LPG, ethylene, propylene and benzene by the petrochemical industry causes a substantial demand for energy by means of electricity as well as steam. The production process involves cracking and distillation of mineral oil derivatives, which demands heating up to 800 °C. The residual heat can be used to produce high-pressure steam from water. This water needs to be demineralised so as to prevent damages to the boilers. In general, the conductivity of the boiler feed water needs to be reduced to 0.05 – 0.10 µS/cm.
Evides Industriewater uses well-known technologies like ion exchange and reverse osmosis to produce demineralised water and supplies this to well-known multi-national companies in northwestern Europe.
