Evides Industriewater develops a new multi-client demi-water plant, that as of the beginning of 2010 will be supplying demineralised water for supply to a substantial number of chemical companies and some refineries in the Rotterdam area. Thursday 18th of September 2008 gentlemen P. Verberne (Akzo Nobel) and P. Vermaat (Evides) have signed a contract for supply of more than 300 m3 demineralised water per hour to the production site of Akzo Nobel in the Botlek are of Rotterdam. In doing so Akzo Nobel has become the launching customer of this new demi-plant DWP.
Evides Industriewater will be constructing the new demi-plant on the grounds of Huntsman. The process has been designed based on proprietary know-how. The operation of the plant will be executed by Evides since the scheme will be developed as a DBFO-contract (Design, Build, Finance and Operate). The engineering of the plant is in full process. The DWP plant is scheduled to be commissioned in the beginning of 2010.
Using the existing distribution piping grid in the Rotterdam harbour area, the new DWP plant will ensure that chemical and petrochemical sites in Rotterdam will have demineralised water at their service for a long time to go. The reliability of the supply of this commodity will be secured because of the implemented redundancy of the process plant and the distribution network, the availability of back-up for the feed source and the experience of Evides Industriewater with large-scale tailor-made water treatment schemes within the (petro-) chemical industry. Multi-client plants for treatment of waste water have also been developed by Evides Industriewater, as is the case at industrial parks like Sloe (in Vlissingen) and Delfzijl.
