The Dutch companies, Evides, Norit Membrane Technology, Royal Haskoning and Witteveen+Bos have pulled their resources together in a consortium known as “NethWater”. Nethwater provides integrated technical solutions for (large scale) users of industrial water. Nethwater implements these solutions for its clients by means of DBFO (Design, Build, Finance, Operate)contracts. What this comes down to is that the consortium provides a comprehensive package (solution) including financing, design, building or construction, operational management and maintenance of the installation.
The consortium deploys its resources towards the supply of process water and industrial water as well as the purification and re-use of waste water. Likely markets are China, the Gulf States and the Middle East.
Initial contacts with prospective clients in China and the United Arab Emirates have already been made and these have culminated in concrete offers.
The re-use of waste water is becoming an increasingly important link in the water chain. Treated waste water can once again become a source of industrial water. This does not only lead to sustainable use of water, but it also sheds light on water management with regard to the industrial sector.
Evides is the second largest water company in the Netherlands. As supplier of industrial water, Evides industrial water (part of Evides N.V.) has grown into the most important water partner of the petrochemical and foodstuff industries in the Benelux. In the consortium, Evides industrial water provides know-how and practical experience in the area of the financing and industrial management of water treatment installations using a wide range of purification technologies. What is more, Evides is also actively involved in the development of this know-how and innovative development.
Norit Membrane Technology, part of Norit N.V. ’leading in purification’” provides global comprehensive solutions and turn-key projects for the water, beverages, foodstuff and pharmaceutical industries. These solutions are based on Norit’s renowned and innovative water treatment technologies, such as Norit Membrane Technology, Norit Nijhuis pumps and Norit activated carbon. Norit is currently active in more than 140 countries worldwide thanks to a network of Norit sales and service centres, business partners and distributors as well as Norit production and engineering companies such as Norit Membrane Technology.
The engineers and consultancies, Royal Haskoning and Witteveen+Bos are both active in the area of water on the global stage, with an armada of more than 5000 professionals. Both bureaus provide “state of the art” expertise with regard to the reclamation and provision of drinking and process water as well as the drainage, treatment and re-use of waste water. Thanks to this expertise, the consortium is able to deploy its innovative and practical solutions in order to make maximum use of the increasingly scarce water resources.
