Flying start for DWP plant

17/12/2009 09:00

On 1 January 2010, Evides Industriewater (EIW) will start supplying demineralised water from the Botlek DWP (Demineralised Water Plant) to a number of businesses in the Botlek-Europoort region (near Rotterdam) who are currently using distilled water. With the Botlek DWP, Evides hopes to secure the supply of demineralised water to the port of Rotterdam for the next few years.

Following a construction period of about 14 months, the DWP went live on 3 December 2009, when the first of eight demineralising lines were taken into operation. Since 15 December 2009, the Botlek DWP has been supplying approx. 1,000m3/h to the demineralised water network, and as such it fully meets the demand for demineralised water from fifteen businesses. This means that one important milestone of this project has been achieved: Evides is able to guarantee a stable, reliable supply of high-quality demineralised water before the anticipated contract date of 1 January 2010.
